Did you fall in love with the proud Mr. Darcy or the witty Lizzi while reading Pride and Prejudice? Did you find yourself wondering whether you are more like Marianne or Elinor when reading Sense and Sensibility? Did you feel like Emma Woodhouse after yet another matchmaking attempt went wrong? Welcome to the Jane Austen fan club—the English author who, in her short life, wrote six unforgettable novels about young women seeking a good marriage, and if possible, love as well.
This year, in honor of the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, we will focus on her novels, guided by the English-speaking Associate Principal, Lior Misrachi. Apart from being an English teacher, Lior is a lover of books and an expert in all things Austen!
Come celebrate with us the groundbreaking literary journey of one of the most influential writers in the world—an author who knew how to write about love, society, and freedom.
The reading club will open with a minimum number of participants and will take place on the following dates,
Tuesdays at 8:00 PM at Zarkor, with light refreshments and a coffee corner.
Cost for the five-session book club: 250 NIS.

In October 2026, members of the reading club will set out on a three-day journey in England, following in the footsteps of Jane Austen’s novels.
